On my landing page I have the great quote by A. P. Giannini, "Serving the needs of others is the only legitimate business today." I actually believe that. I've spent the better part of my adult life serving others with whatever their need might be. There are some things I enjoy doing more than others, naturally, and through the years I began to recognize what it was that truly made me happy, what it was that I was gifted at and what it was that people were asking me to do alot of - design.

In the yard of my childhood home stood two very large sugar maple trees. I have fond memories of creating 'homes' with 'furniture', 'appliances' and 'accessories' with the leaves that fell every fall. I remember yelling at my older brothers when they would run over my 'sofa' while playing football. These memories are my earliest recollection of my love for design.

I went to school for design and marketing and after some years of working for others in retail, advertising, design and administration I started Sugar Maple. The three services I offer are very specific to changes people go through and I chose them with the intention of helping them through that change.
